Promotion Effect of Ce Doping on Catalytic Performance of LaMnO3 for CO Oxidation

In this paper, Ce-doped La1-xCexMnO3 perovskite catalysts are prepared by the sol–gel method, and promotion effect of Ce doping on LaMnO3 for CO oxidation is investigated. The characterized X-ray diffractograms, Raman, N2 physisorption isotherms, temperature-programed reduction with H2, transmission electron microscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy. results show that greatly improves catalytic activity oxidation. Among catalysts, La0.8Ce0.2MnO3 shows best activity, 100% conversion obtained at 180 °C. characteristic phase exists in all CeO2 crystalline begins to appear x ? 0.1. high could be that: (1) it possesses large surface area (25.8 m2/g) contact reactants; (2) has a Ce3+/(Ce3+ + Ce4+) ratio 0.27, which means content oxygen vacancies used O2 adsorption activation; (3) exhibits strong reducibility beneficial activation.
